The Importance of Personalizing Your Space

Don’t feel like reading? Here, I’ll read it to you.

One of my favorite compliments I’ve ever received was “I love your room. I feel like I could know who you are without ever having met you, just by walking into your room” In fact, I designed my website to look and feel like my bedroom. I want it to be a place for people to hang out.

My room is full of things that speak to me; quotes representing who I want to be and what I stand for, pictures from my favorite days with the people most important to me, art that made me feel something. It’s energetic yet calming. It’s cozy& warm, kind&safe. I accidentally created the perfect room.

Instead of waiting for the perfect frame I hung things up with tacks. Instead of waiting until I could afford big statement pieces by my favorite artists, I bought the small greeting cards or prints. Instead of waiting to find the art I envisioned, I created it myself. Instead of thinking about trends I just picked things I loved. Things don’t really match, but somehow they all seem to just fit together. I love my space because it is wholeheartedly me.

Your environment matters. Is your home, you?
